New hospital visitor screenings and restrictions

To protect the health of our patients and their families, we are limiting the number of public entrances to our hospital. Additionally, patients and visitors entering the hospital will be screened for symptoms of the flu and COVID-19. These include: fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

You will not be permitted to enter if you exhibit signs of an influenza-like illness. We also continue to limit the number of visitors to all of our patient care facilities.

Ramp Parking and Rates

Patient Parking Pass

Patients can receive one free pass for use in Hospital Parking Ramps 1, 2, 3, and 4 (does not include valet). This pass can be used by another person who is driving the patient, but it is not for other visitors to use.

How do I get a Patient Parking Pass?

  1. Ask the clinic at check-in or the unit clerk at time of discharge
    Or
  2. Print a single use pass at home ahead of time from your MyChart account.

Simply scan the parking pass at the pay-in-lane machine when you exit the ramp; it's good for one exit from any of the following four Hospital Parking Ramps (does not cover valet).

Hospital parking ramp rates

For people without a Patient Parking Pass:

  • Up to 30 minutes: Free
  • 31 minutes to an hour: $0.60
  • Each additional hour: $1.20
  • Maximum daily rate and/or lost ticket rate: $20

A higher hourly rate will apply for vehicles that enter the ramp between 5 and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday and stay longer than three hours.

Parking can be paid by cash, check, MasterCard, Discover, or Visa.

Visitor Parking Pass Booklets

Each booklet costs $30 and contains five pre-paid passes (making your cost $6 per pass). Each pass allows you to exit the ramp at no additional cost.

  • Must be visiting a patient; when purchasing, visitors need to provide the name of the patient they are visiting.
  • Unused passes cannot be refunded, but can be shared with other visitors.
  • These visitor passes have no expiration date.

They may be purchased at:

  • UI Hospitals & Clinics Fountain Lobby Information Desk (Elevator C, Level 1): Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; weekends 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
